The video shows Steven Dilks, better known for his graffiti name 'Dilk' has been immersed within the world of graffiti and spray paint for the last 25 years. Owner of the first and only 'Montana' spray paint shop in the UK, which based in Nottigham, Dilk's an ambassador of Graffiti/street art has spent much of his career painting the walls of Nottingham, Madrid, Berlin, Rio, Hong Kong, New York a beyond.

Alongside paintings and drawings that show references from memories of travels and the beauty of typography, this exhibition will showcase close to 150 rare photographs of Dilks’ previous work from his personal collection.

STYLE WARS Restoration Project

In the early 1980s, Mayor Koch, enraged about graffiti, began buffing the city’s colorful, painted trains. In the end, he may have succeeded, but not before Tony Silver and Henry Chalfant captured the magnificent tidal wave of graffiti in their pioneering documentary, Style Wars. The film is seen around the world as an important footnote in hip hop culture and New York City history. Today, that history, too, is threatened. The original footage is damaged and fading. A new kind of buffing is taking place – a “celluloid buff” – that threatens to eradicate the record of the first brave and indomitable writers who took the world by storm.

You can help preserve that history!

Public Art Films is currently on a fund-raising mission to restore the original print, and to create a new high definition master which will preserve the record of the first painted trains to its original vivid colors. We’re inviting you to take part in this historic enterprise.

The Restoration Project

Twenty five years after its initial release there is still a strong, global demand for the film. In an effort to keep up with this demand we must be able to offer the film in the the most up-to-date formats. We are embarking on a project to restore STYLE WARS and bring it up to the highest technical standards available today in order to create a High Definition edition of the film. We will be transferring the original 16 mm negativeinto full HD 1080p while cleaning and restoring the film during the process. The HD master will be better, sharper and more brilliant than the original. From it we can strike new prints, author new DVDs and participate in the digital economy.

We have looked at the original negative and discovered that it was damaged during the many years it has been in storage. Fortunately, it will be possible to repair it, using digital technology, painstakingly working on each damaged frame. The restored film will have unprecedented sharpness and clarity and the vibrant colors of the painted trains will be revealed in their original intensity.

Stussy has teamed-up with Marvel to bring you a collection of tees and hats that immerses classic characters from the Marvel Universe and teleports them into Stussy's galactic sphere of iconic imagery. The collection will be released in two batches:

Series 1 (April 27, 2011)

A collection of tees and hats that fuse archival Marvel images with Stussy’s iconic graphic language. Stussy scoured comic book conventions, eBay, and local comic book stores for old issues with classic covers that would mold well with Stussy’s design aesthetic. Scanned from the original comic books and rare collectors' posters from the 1960's - 1990's, the tee designs capture the essence of the characters, the texture of vintage comic books and the soulfulness of the Stussy brand.

Manchester's Illum Sphere and Jonny Dub present the debut release on their newly minted Hoya:hoya imprint named after the much acclaimed Manchester club night of the same name. By far the highlight of the release is Lone's 'Let The Music Play', a unique sounding disco track with a thumping kick drum and distorted vocals layered to great effect before a rugged synthline takes everything down a notch. Illum Sphere, meanwhile, deploys a killer slowed down take on UK Funky which starts off with a trademark ambient wash and thudding drums before a synth reminiscent of his recent Titan 12" on 3024 takes over and the whole thing collapses back in on itself. Rounding off the twelve is Krystal Klear with a very 80s sounding piece of modern boogie complete with handclaps and those apt crystal synths. A seriously heavy twelve and a perfect start to what promises to be a label to watch.

A key player in the rise of London's broken beat scene, Charlie Dark has a reputation of being in the forefront of English movements. First spotlighted as a member of the pioneering trip-hop group, Attica Blues, their production walked side by side with other seminal acts like Portishead and Massive Attack. Their debut release on the legendary Mo' Wax label helped define a genre and signature sound of the mid '90s.

In following years, Dark founded the bi-monthly club night, Blacktronica. The night represented much more than theme, but a mindset. Like his Blacktronica events, Dark has spent much of his adult life spreading a message. Be it exploring and unifying the innovative sounds of black electronic music or bringing his community together through spoken word.

One of London's most respected and contributing members, we're honored to present this special reggae 45 selector mix by Charlie Dark. A mix fitting for today's occasion.

Charlie Dark writes, "I started listening to reggae back in the late seventies courtesy of a dread who lived on my street and used to blast his music while washing his old school BMW every sunday. Paul has already made his mark on the international circuit, playing guest sets in the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Greece, Tenerife, Dubai, Thailand and Ibiza - Bora Bora, Garlands, Eden, El Divino and the massive Cream Pre Party’s.

At the beginning of 2009 Paul Lyman’s DJ carrier entered a whole new level, with four of his tracks being signed to major international record labels. As well as each release going out on vinyl, each label will be putting each track out on all of the major download sites.

SPAM CHOP Fabric Interview

Lukas Cole is probably better known to the world as Spam Chop. As the face of Wigflex he’s taken some of the finest young producers to record stores, signing their tracks to his fledging label but whats really interesting is how the sleeve artwork reflects the almost fluorescent atmosphere of the bass music contained in the grooves. After he brought his Nottingham based conglomerate to fabric for the Blunted Robots vs. Berkane Sol night last month we thought it’d be real neat to get the skinny on his highly recognisable artwork too.

How would you describe your art, to the uneducated?
Er... like a Japanese German guy living in England. Ha

How did you get into creating it? Was it something that you were always into, or can you pinpoint down a moment of realization (of sorts)?
As a kid I used to draw all the time, but from the age of 15 I found out about weed and vinyl and didn’t really give a shit about anything else for around another seven years. I then went to college to study multimedia and got into the graphic design side of the course, I had to keep a sketch book for ideas and I just doodled the shit out of it. It made me realise how much I loved drawing. I’ve been doing more and more ever since...

Can you give us a little insight into your techniques? Like how do you do it?
I hand draw everything... then vectorise what I have scanned in using Illustrator.
